A couple of months ago, I was asked to give a talk at the Pueblo Gem & Mineral Show, which takes place on July 20-21, 2025. I sent in a summary and started to work on a Power-Point presentation. The show organizer was very slow about responding but eventually told me that my talk would be on July 20 and that I would receive a $50 honorarium (not much--I'm a professional geologist who was doing this to help out with a new show).
