Provident's customer service are well trained to de-escalate and answer questions but Provident's business practices are "shady". They use the word "Trust" in the name but that's deceiving. I've used every platform possible to warn others... Do not do business with Provident. They've been relentless in threatening to report assets to the IRS for an account with a zero balance. 0 is to high of a rating for this company... I have had nothing but problems with this company over the last 5 years. I finally closed my account. Had to work with the BBB to even get them to respond to my requests. As I closed my account I paid to have my remaining funds over nighted to me... they sent it regular mail even though I requested O.N. They agreed to pay me back and guess what? We have had our Solo K account administered by Provident Trust since 2015. I wish there was a zero star option for this company. They are a bad combination of high cost ($690 / year) and poor service. (Long wait times, rude customer service, failure to return messages, exorbitant fees to access our money, etc.) The last straw was when we recently found out that Provident Trust was not filing any basic IRS reporting (Form 5500-EZ) which left us liable for a $1,500 IRS penalty.
