Last Friday, July 18th, I was visiting a relative at the promise house, and there was a worker named Constance. She was upset at male co worker. She began to yell, using profanity, screaming at the co worker about the chair being dirty. The co worker was trying to get away from her but she just kept yelling at him. This place feels like a hostile environment. If this is how she treats co workers, what does she say to the residents.
The staff is absolutely amazing. This is the best place to take a loved one.
I have worked in long term care for over 20 years. The Promise house staff is beyond exceptional. I have witnessed the staff going above and beyond showing compassion, treating the residents like family, and knowledge of Alzhiemers dementia. I highly recommend this home.
When we had to put our dad in a memory care assisted living facility we had several options due to the fact that we are a large family that covers 7 states. We decided on the promise house in Iowa and we are all so glad we did. The care he receives is more than just nurses doing their job, and more about making him part of the family.
