I can't give enough praise to JoAnne Marks. When my first lender fell through (error on their end), I contacted JoAnne at the recommendation of my realtor. JoAnne kept things on track and made the whole process smooth. My only regret is that I didn't work with her from the start. While I successfully bought my first house through this lender, it seemed like they take advantage of first time home owners. Through the pre-approval process, they did not want to commit to a rate estimate and they assured me that their rates were competitive. By the time my house offer was accepted, they gave me an insultingly high rate.
