I was in the store two days ago using self-checkout and witnessed the attendant single out a young man of color to check his receipt. We entered self-checkout at the same time and both had only a few items. She specifically pulled him aside to verify he hadn’t stolen anything. This is not the first time I’ve observed selective receipt checks directed at customers of color in this store. Last year, I also witnessed a manager berate a Hispanic woman for not speaking English.
