I have been an online customer of this bank for over a decade and have stayed with them for 2 reasons: 1) High-interest checking account that's unique in the industry and free of junk fees. 2) On the rare occasions I needed to contact the bank's customer service, I could reliably reach a human being within 30 seconds and never had to go through a phone menu or robot "assistant".
I’ve financed my Tesla through Presidential Bank for years with flawless payment history—not a single late or missed payment ever. Auto-pay was set up and working perfectly. Then, completely out of the blue, I get contacted by Kortney Avadikian in their Bethesda, MD auto loan department claiming I owe fees because of a “returned payment” and an underpaid amount of $3.45. I got a car loan from this bank through a dealership. Never , never again. Tried to pay it off. Can’t do it online. Called, they won’t take payment over the phone. They gave me some options but all would incur more cost to me. So I had to drive 30+ miles to the Bethesda office, which is the only place to pay off a loan. Individual banks are fine, tellers are nice but cannot solve larger issues. Cannot spend more than $1000 a day, unless I call first. I cannot register for a Smithsonian Journeys trip because they will only allow an increase to cover the deposit for two days (it can take up to two weeks for the tour operator to process the deposit). I will never be able to take a vacation as long as they are my primary bank.
