Oh, where do I even start? I walk into the Portsmouth Commissioner of the Revenue office, and the lady at the front tells me, “You can just pull up the website on your phone and do it there.” Great idea — except the website doesn’t even work on phones. Only on computers or laptops. So I point to the computer that’s literally sitting right there on the waiting table and ask if I can use it. She says she’ll “be right back” and just… disappears. Worst city to live in tax you to death.
Went there midday midweek every window had personal and moving very quickly. Very surprised. Info on over head monitor I was so glad to find out. Good job Portsmouth!
Came to apply for business license and everyone was so polite and ready to assist. I worked directly with Mr. Ron Melton and he is a pure joy! Thank you so much for your support this morning and being apart of my journey as a small business owner!
Just got off the phone with what I'm assuming was the secretary let's be CLEAR I work for ME talk with more respect on the phone to people and know how to greet people when you pick up the phone and are hanging up. If you don't like your JOB get a NEW ONE and stop having an attitude with people that WORK FOR THEMSELVES because you're stuck at a job that doesn't treat you right. The entire city of Portsmouth is EXTREMELY unorganized look else where to start your business because this city and the workers aren't it!!!
