This is legal theft. I inadvertently missed a tax payment for three contiguous parcels, no 2nd notice, just straight to this collection agency. The charged me ridiculous processing fees for each parcel. I called them and said I would send payment which I did (minus the fees) approximately 2 weeks after the call. The day after sending the payment, I received 6 certified letters (one for each parcel and copies in both mine and my wife's name). I don't understand why I bought a house in August 2023, the previous owner had a notarized tax payment in full. I sent them the tax notarization but they didn't see it and didn't know. They continued to send the tax arrears papers for 2011, 2012... a total of 12 years of tax arrears to confiscate my property. I think everyone should pay their own debt.
