By decree of the Vatican, the Portiuncula is designated a site of holy pilgrimage. There are specific dates that you can receive a plenary indulgence, while my travel for work did not align with any of those dates it was still very nice to sit for an hour of adoration today. I traveled over 3 1/2 hours one way to visit this beautiful chapel. I highly highly recommend for anyone that is questioning whether or not to make this journey here. Do yourself a favor and just come.
Beautiful and holy
Many hard but beautiful moments spent in this chapel. You will not regret a visit here- the Lord is truly present, and waits for you with love. Pro tip: if you sit on the floor and use a prayer rug, put it back in the rug holder, along with any extras lying nearby. The friars will thank you, lol.
My favorite place in Steubenville. Both my son and I had the experience of being physically touched in this little chapel; the Presence of the Lord is extremely strong here.
