I purchased and installed my Portage and Main BL 34 44 about 4 years ago and have been very pleased with its performance and reliability. We use it on our small farm operation heating 2 houses 2 smaller shops and a well house. All of out heating is done by water to air heat exchangers which works good for us as we do not have infloor heating. We have heated with an outdoor wood furnace for 25 years. I had many conversations with Brian from portage and main boilers and heat smart plus. Very down to earth people and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone looking at outdoor boilers to look into the portage and main ultimizer series boiler they are a simple design yet have great features to help them be more efficient than the standard conventional stove. I have the BL34-44 heating about 6,000 sq ft of house for the last 3 years. The house was built in two halves with two propane gas furnaces, a gas stove, a gas water heater and a gas clothes dryer. Ran about $6,500 a year on propane. Now the propane tank level needle doesn't move all winter !! We run about 12 cords of wood throughout the season.
