The Port of West Sacramento is a great place to go fishing. Here is a 5 mph rule for boats in the turning basin. This makes it great for kayakers. Be careful and stay 100 feet away from the ships and docks. Be aware that ships coming in ican cause huge waves in the Deep Water Channel. Another reviewer gave it one star because they didn't like the name change, stating that the port was built during the gold rush. This is not accurate. The port opened in 1963.
I just dropped trailers off and picked trailers up that are loaded. Easy in and out.
Why changed the port name to "Port of West Sacramento" after the city name of West Sacramento when it was best as it is as "Port of Sacramento"??? Should have kept its name as "Port of Sacramento" instead of added that "west" because it sounds better, less by one word, and stand for the Sacramento Area's history.
