I have an interest bearing checking account with my wife. The interest we make is absurdly low, but we thought something is better than nothing. No one told us when they sold this account to us that if we draw it below $1500 we would have a $10 maintenance fee taken out of our account. We were below that threshold (never overdrawn) for a couple months after some costly car repairs, and I wasn’t paying attention (shame on me). I came in to make a simple deposit that should’ve taken 5 minutes, but it ended up taking 20 due to slow service and equipment issues. During the visit, one of the employees was talking VERY loudly on the phone, which was very unprofessional and uncomfortable. And after holding my ID for nearly 20 minutes, they even had to call me back after I left to update it in their system. Overall, quite a frustrating and disappointing experience.
