My wife and I booked this hotel for our wedding, after reading some reviews on this site we went with a little bit of trepidation......there was absolutely no need. From the minute you arrive you are greeted with a glass of bubbly and a cold face cloth. As soon as you walk into the reception area you are blown away with the place, it was beautiful. Check in was simple and your bags are taken to your room by the bell boys.We had booked a junior swim up suite and stayed in block 3, the bed must have been a queen size bed at least, there is a flat screen TV, jacuzzi in the room, mini bar stocked daily (or more if required). There are 3 pools to choose from for during the day,The childrens pool where all the activities take placeThe family pool where you can relax in peace, andThe adult pool where it can get a little noisy. There is also plenty of activities to take part in throughout the day. From yoga, salsa dancing, beach football, beach volleyball and many others. There is never any pressure from the staff to take part and you are always made welcome when you do.There are 6 restaurants to chose from -1. Spoons - this is your typical buffet style, we only went here twice in our 2 week stay. When we went here there was always something that a fussy eater could choose and the food was ok.2. La Tasca - this was a Tapaz bar and it was brilliant. Top marks go to Marco (the manager) for the service we received on our wedding night, and any other night we met him, was exceptional.3. Zavas - Carribean style, the fish dishes in here were top notch as was the breakfast.4. Siena - Italian style, again the service and food was fantastic.5. Zocalo - Mexican style, we had lunch here every day and it was very enjoyable......however we went for an evening meal only once and it was awful!! Maybe just a bad experience but we had two different dishes and neither were appealing.6. Le Chique - Unfortunately we only managed to book this restaurant once during our stay due to getting married. This is a must try restaurant, no matter how picky an eater you may be. Our favourite dish was a dessert which tasted like Pina Colada (I'll say no more about it or it ruins the experience). The nightlife was surprisingly really good. We had stayed at the Grand Palladium and Collonial Resort the previous year and the entertainment was poor so we expected much of the same. The resident Sensatori cast were fantastic and performed a good variety of shows and there were also local acts who performed dancing shows and were fantastic. The resort seems to lose a lot of points from people who say it is too far from anywhere, We were well aware of its location when booking and it suited us perfectly. If you are looking for bustling nightclubs then stick to Cancun.Just as a side point, having been to Mexico last year and not being able to turn a corner without spotting an Iguana we didn't see a single one this year.Anyone who is planning to get married in the future should seriously think about coming here, every single aspect is taken care of for you, no stress or worries. Israel, Veronica and the rest of the wedding co-ordinators take great care of you.Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff :-) more »

Arrived at Azul Sensatori with high expectations as the brochure and travel agent had sold it as a 5 star resort with everything we had asked for.....On arriving it became apparent that it was more like a 3 star resort....but time proved with 5 star people there to help and serve you.Room was okay but nothing like its picture in the brochure.Beach has to be one of the worse beaches I have ever been on, water dirty looking seaweed on the sand and uneven surface to the water making it difficult to wade in to far.Food okay ...best restaurant was "Sienna" the Italian...but for service "spoons" was a winner in particular Mitzi and Susannah the two lovely girls there to escorted you to your table were testament to what makes the resort special....the men and women that are there to look after and serve you....they are lovely friendly and always seemed happy to help you.Mexico would never be a future destination for us again, we had a thoroughly relaxing holiday but could not help but feel we were cheated slightly....was it worth what we paid...absolutely not.P.S....Whilst we were there we could see ongoing repairs being carried out on a daily basis strange as we were advised the resort is only 2 years old....in the 2 weeks we were there our toilet door fell off and the patio door lock broke, we also witnessed 2 accidents caused through uneven tiling on floor around the pool area. more »

just returned from Sensatori Mexico - we had a great time - i dont write reviews generally and can see that the whingers tend to be serial complainers - I am only going to list what I considered the bad bits;- A. Isolated/beach has a bit/lot of seeweed but its regularly cleared and actually the beach is not as bad as its made out to be.
B. Weddings - these are not a major issue - but if you like to be round the quiet pool outside block three - you may get moved late in the day as they are setting up - or its even cordoned off all day - we complained about this and was upgraded to premier area for the second week - so totally happy about that.
C. There are occassional groups of US parties turning up for weddings - they can be naturally loud (its just their way!) - I guess that is the luck of the draw - but its no major stress
D. Struggling to find anything else to complain about.. I guess the Mexican restraraunt is a bit dissapointing if you like typical spicy mexican food - its a la carte and a bit tame...
E. Trips seem a bit expensive (as is the SPA!) but the one we went (Coba and Mexican village) on was a full day and really goodI read a complaint about rooms being cold/damp - ours was same on arrival but a little turn of the aircon dial works wonders - we turned it down / up a degree and all was perfect - (some people are clueless!!) Good bits - take all the good bits from other reviews - they are very representative and accurate - I heard very few complaints - our coach from the resort to airport was full of couples/families all ages and all had a thoroughly great holiday. The entertainments are many and varied - we like to relax and chill and this was perfect - others liked to party hard and this was fine (although no where to escape to!) and did not get in our way - everyone is on holiday to do what they want to do...and there are plenty of quite bars / areas etcI could list all the positives - but it would go on forever we only usually do 7-10 day holidays as we have generally had enough - but this was 14 and I wish it was 21...

Got back from Sensatori this past Saturday.
We were delayed in Toronto for about and hour and a half due to "illness" which made us late getting to the resort. Unfortunately our rooms in the lux
ury suites were no longer available so they upgraded us to the premium suites. Very nice upgrade at no charge to us. The rooms were fantastic!! Our concierge was incredible and always available - thanks for the aloe for the boys. Please be careful of that Mexican sun - sons were badly burned in pool! (not enough sunscreen) The lady that cleaned our rooms was super (best towel art of all time) and the room service was always punctual (30 minutes/24 hours). Pablo in Spoons is a wonderful waiter as are all of the wait staff. Jesus at the swim up bar was the nicest guy and best bartender you could meet. Hubby spent a lot of time with him!! You must go and get jiggy with Jesus!! Food was good - not necessarily gourmet - but good. Entertainment was fun - Michael Jackson and the circus were the best in my eyes. The best part of the holiday were the great people that we met. Hola to Sean and Brandon, Sumi, Mike, Chicago Tony and Gina, Ivan from Texas, Simon, Joe and Lydia from Oregon, Bud and Dorothy, Aaron, Barbara and Leslie, Mark and David, too many to mention. Ages across the board but no matter! I would go to any resort if these same people were going to be there!!
Negatives
Too much tequila (my fault)
Beach is crummy but pools are beautiful
Check out was a little nasty but its all behind us now.Hubby and I stayed at Eldorado Seaside in February. Very nice adults only. Food was better and beach was better however we had much more fun this time round (even with our sons held up in their room for most of the week)Any questions drop me a line - honest answers only!!
