An.unexpected find just a short walk from South Melbourne market - a delightful shop with legit friendly staff:)
I unfortunately was not able to make a purchase yesterday but the store clerk was incredibly helpful and friendly. I’ve taken pictures of things I’d love to purchase as gifts for Christmas (as attached) and will definitely be back! Thanks again for your patience and kindness in store.
This charming local shop in the heart of South Melbourne is a treasure trove of trinkets, decoration pieces, and art. I recently bought a pair of delightful merry people boots from there. The friendly service and diverse selection make it a must-visit.
I spent a decent amount of money on gifts, only to be told at the register that they couldn’t wrap them because they “didn’t have any tape.” The staff member seemed completely stressed and unprepared — not what you’d expect on a busy Saturday. Working in retail, especially during peak times, means being prepared. What made it worse is that I could clearly see plenty of wrapping paper and tape behind the counter, so it felt like an excuse. Very disappointing, especially when you’re trying to make a thoughtful purchase.
I had bought a few pairs of earrings from these guys a few weeks back. They were cute, well priced and the owner claimed they were nickel free - so that I wouldn't get an allergic reaction. I told him I usually wear gold because silver and other jewellery can cause an infection. He told me he had others like me too come in and say the same thing - and that it wouldn't happen to me.
