I was sent home from the program today and told I needed to take a break from the medications. No more controlled substances. When I went home and did some research on the Internet about these medications, it states that you cannot stop these drugs “cold turkey’” because it could cause seizures. I understand you also mentioned that to my daughter. You stated that you have to be weaned off the meds slowly. If that is the case, why would you send me on my way without even discussing this with me and tasking the necessary steps to start the weaning process immediately since you suspected I was having adverse effects from the medication based on your conversations with her? I never mentioned any issues with the meds. But I am now deeply concerned that the weaning process should have been started, because you sent me out of your office with no medication after being on the medication since August? I am concerned and at this point disappointed, I would hope you do the right thing and wean me down from my dosage: 25 mg topiramate 2x day, 30 mg phentermine 1 x a day. Please make these arrangements immediately and contact me with the information I need. Thank you.
