The selection at this store is quite extensive, especially considering the relatively low population of the immediate area and the smaller, but quite adequate size, compared to national, chain grocery stores. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the process of checking out is rapid but not overly rushed. I'm rarely impressed, but this is a positive and useful place to shop. This place is WAY over priced. Same products at Food King, Española for way less.
While generally the service and products here are fine, I recently bought some whole bean Red Rock Pinion Coffee and it tasted so bad I brought the unused portion back. It tasted like hazelnut and very chemically, like it was just another artificially flavored coffee. At almost $16 a pound this is a lot of money for what amounts to a low quality coffee. I love this place. This is a small grocery store with all the essentials plus more. They have New Mexican items, locally imported vegan food and sushi, an decent hot and cold deli with homemade entrees, breakfast and lunch only. Its an essential for some locals passing through the area, to get coffee, breakfast and a loaf of bread from the vendor out front. The employees are always very kind, super professional.
