My review is strictly on the administrative / policy side. This location's clinical care is excellent - as me and my family have been going to them for 5 years now. Recently they have made a policy change that bundles the eye exam (covered by insurance) with retinal imaging (not covered by most insurance- $50 out of pocket payment). With this policy change, they have updated their Clinical waiver form that includes both eye exam as well as retinal imaging - essentially forcing the patient to sign for both. I would love to co... read more

This practice is on a list provided to me within the last two weeks by my health insurance. In addition, when I called them to make an appointment I specifically asked if I was covered in network, and they had me send a copy of my health insurance card so they could check it out in advance. They did NOT bother to check it out, and when I showed up for my appointment, they concluded that I was not in network. Big waste of time and extremely inconsiderate.

I've been twice, once for a normal checkup and once for an emergency visit. Both times I was there, the doctors were personable and listened to my issues. I feel well taken care of. It's easy to call and get help (and they check their voicemails!). I had an issue with a medication not being covered by insurance. I left a voicemail after hours and got a call the next morning with the help I needed. Update: two days after my initial eye exam, I developed swollen eyes. I've never, ever, ever, had that before. I went back to VHD... read more

My review is strictly for the optical retail side. Dr Mehta is great, but the customer service was poor and the prices for lenses over the top. Years ago, when it was locally owned, you didn't have to send your glasses off to get a Rx refilled. The owner would finish the lens off in the back room. That made the higher prices worth it. Now, it took 15 business days to get my glasses back. I was promised 3-5 days when I ordered them at the end of December. That would have meant delivery at the latest BEFORE the first snowstorm... read more
