Plato's Closet is THE place to go if you are looking for affordable prices on current style, name brand clothing! Seriously, 80% of my closet is from Plato's.. and I rest easy knowing I spent less than half of what anyone else would who shops at the mall! :) As for the "buying process," bring in one shirt, you'll make $1-$4 (depending on brand and type of shirt), but bring in lots of clothes that fit their criteria and you can make $100-$300 (I have actually made $175 just from one stop). I read the reviews here before I went to Platos in Kennewick and almost didn't go. Thank God I did!! I talked with four ladies while I was there, and EVERY one of them was very friendly! I received a text when they were done looking through the clothes I was selling, and was pleasantly surprised on how fair they were! There were only a few items that they didn't buy..and they explained to me that they just weren't the right style. I will definitely go there again, and highly recommend the Kennewick store.
Ive been to a few platos closets in Arizona when I lived there, I came here and discovered there was one so I checked it out and it wasn't bad. I found some good buys there. It definitely wasn't like the ones in AZ , but I still would go back to buy more.
The service there was very bad. They didnt greet you nor do they have a very positive attitude when you are in the store or need help from them. When you bring in clothes to sell they tell you it will take 20 minutes though when I was watching from a far the gal didnt even look at the clothes just grabbed and tossed them aside and only grabbed one article of clothing. When I looked at the selection my clothes were in better shape and better condition than the ones for sale. The prices were the same as if you were to buy them... read more
I have been to Platos Closet in several different citys (particularly the one in Boise, Idaho where I used to live) and have always enjoyed both buying and selling my clothes there. Unfortunately the Platos closet in Richland, WA is not up to par. The selection of clothes isn't great but my biggest beef is with the staff. Everytime I have been there they have been extremely rude. There is a young man inparticular that seems high everytime I have been in there and is EXTREMELY rude. "WORN OUT" CLOTHES OR JUST TOO LAZY TO BOTHER? – I went to Plato's Closet, expecting to get some cash for some clothes that were gently or never used, just sitting in my closet. I hand the bag to the lady and she says it will be done in 20- 30 minutes. I assume this means she will call and let me know since I gave her my phone number. While I'm waiting, I take a look at all the clothes. I get excited, because most of my stuff was in better condition than this stuff.
