Pinkston's Turf Goods In 1937 Mr. Pinkston bought The Pinson Shop, at the corner of Short and Broadway Streets in Lexington, Kentucky. The shop was a general repair and hardware store. He renamed the shop Pinkston's Turf Goods and opened a harness shop in the back of the store. In 1945 his son-in-law, Paul Ladd, Sr. began running the harness shop. Paul Ladd Sr., 94, of Lexington, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Paul was born in Columbia, TN on January 13, 1923, to the late George and Blanche Houser Ladd. He was a longtime Lexington businessman proudly running the family business Pinkston's Turf Goods. His work ethic was legendary and he called on the Keeneland Race Track for 108 consecutive meets.
