Sorry to say, “ Went to this place once, and thought it was great. Made an appointment, went again, and I feel my hair was worse than ever. I’ve never been back. I do not recommend, and do not give this place any stars.”
Overrated, overpriced I was given a gift certificate for a "man"icure (read: manicure for men) at this salon, but opted to use it for a haircut instead. I waited quite a long while before being seen, and the haircut I received was satisfactory. However, even with my gift certificate, my cut was $35 - because normally they cost $55! It's really too much money for a nothing-special cut. I went once and would not go back, would not recommend it.
Rude and Overpriced I went to Phyllis because they were supposedly hair color experts. The whole time I was there they were unfriendly and they charged a rediculous amount for just color and highlights. I think my hair looked worse when I left than when I came in! I would not recommend them!
Massage with martin. Facial with Amy. And hair with Gary Everyone was great. Clean comfortable energetic place. Highly recommend Already made my next appointment
1st time there & will not return/ I booked for a massage & actually received a very good massage/ it is the lack of ambience that put me off. There was no greeting with an offer of a drink, a robe, a shower; just a question if I needed to use the restroom. The relaxation music played during the massage was "different" & not soothing; the room had an almost musty odor/ there was not a scent of anything refreshing, or anything that smelled even remotely pleasant. What a great experience! Phyllis, Frank, Stacy, Sarah, and Sharon were awesome.... from start to finish! Greeted instantly with warm inviting smiles and professionalism.... stayed for the afternoon affair and was well worth the price! Never had the "snotty" salon feel... they were very personable! Conversations were wonderful and I left feeling like I had visited family; although it was my first visit. I will return for future services... and can't wait to tell friends and family!!!
It was like she traveled back in time.... This is the first time I have every reviewed any business. However, I suprized my wife, a full-time mother of 3 very active children, with a random get-a-way day at the Spa. She came home and that afternoon after receiving, a massage and new hair style that was done by the actual owner. It was like she traveled back in time. RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED – I normally do not post reviews, but I am so upset that I need to. Do not go to Phyllis at the Madison unless you have a serious amount of money to spend and want a haircut that you could get at supercuts. I went to get my hair colored, which I don't normally do - she recommended highlights - fine by me, I figure it can't be more than $70-$100 (mind you they don't publish prices online, nice touch). Not a good salon experience. – Phyllis didn't listen to what I wanted. Very disappointed that I now have to find someone to fix what she messed up.
