I will also be contacting Ethics Point but want people to actually see what a real person thinks of facility. My sister was released from hospital to here. She had 2 surgeries in 3 days. Took almost 48 hours before she got pain meds. One nurse told her she was "difficult". Yes when in pain you tend to be difficult. She used call bell and was left for hours after ringing bell to use restroom. She has 2 broke arms and can't help herself. Left her in the bathroom for hours waiting on toilet as well. If I could give less than one start I would. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE. My mother was 73 years old. She suffered strokes due to a tumor on her heart when she came to this horrible, horrible ratchet place they were aware that she wasn’t mentally there all the time they were aware of her extreme fall risk. They were aware of everything they did nothing to help her nothing they overdosed her on her insulin, and I walked in to her being unresponsive. She thought she fell so many times it was pathetic. I want to give a shout out to the team of care workers at Pettigrew Rehabilitation center here on Durham, N.C. I had very bad experience at Durham Ridge, when my mom developed Alzheimer's disease. The staff, the nurses, the CNA's, to name one is TERRENCE, he works mostly second shift. He has such an awesome manner, compassion, and shows even love to live in residents. My mother was there recently and her items were stolen. How do you steal from people who can't fend for themselves.Items stolen under garments, yes underwear jewelery toiletries. Do not send loved ones there .I repeat if you still care for your family member don't send them there.My sister decided to handled the issue in houe, never heard from them since. I cannot recommend Pettigrew Rehabilitation Center in Durham enough. When my family friend first entered this facility, he was in very rough shape, and honestly, I didn't have high hopes for his recovery or his spirits. He had essentially become a hermit due to his physical limitations, and it was heartbreaking to see. The staff at Pettigrew are nothing short of amazing. They didn't just provide medical care; they saw the person inside and made his time there truly productive. His quality of life improved exponentially. They... read more
