After my son was murdered in April 2023, I reached out to the department for counseling for my younger son and myself. I didn’t get a return call for a couple months, and was only offered to join a zoom session. I reached back out in August, was told I would get a call back the following week, but wasn’t called until a couple days ago, almost 5 months later! I was told they help with funeral expenses, but they didn’t offer any kind of help. Do not contact them thinking they will help with anything.
