Some of the worlds best Peter Prier and Sons Violins is a prestigous violin making school and shop. It is noted to be one of the best in the business. It is such a cool place to visit. You can see the apprentices working on their instruments through the front window. Would highly recommend.

I recently had such an amazing experience with Peter Prier's violin shop. I will not go anywhere else from now on! They are the most amazing, and caring group! I bought an intermediate level violin and a bow a few years back from Summerhays music. Not long after I bought it, the violin started having some very significant issues. Muffled sound above the body of the instrument, and more than one wolfing sound! It was bad. I could not afford to buy a new instrument at the time, I chose to take my violin to a well known local... read more

The great people at Peter Prier & Sons went out of there way to accommodate me. I was in SLC for just two days, and they worked me into their schedule to repair a professional violin that is used in a professional symphony. They even worked at night, in the technician's home, to complete the work! The quality was superior, the customer service was incredible, the pricing was more than fair (I tried to pay them more for going the extra mile, and they refused!), and their attitude and friendliness was the best I've ever experi... read more

I visited Peter Prier last week to see if they offered or would know who to refer for violin lessons. I spoke with John and Chris, who are the new owners and they were extremely helpful and very professional in helping me with my questions. They also took time to show me violins and explained what would work best for me and even helped with payments arrangements. I was very impressed with my entire experience and how the owners took time out of their day to make sure I was happy and taken care of. I have heard bad things abo... read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!! My family and I have been customers of Peter Prier & Sons for 20 years, until today. I will NEVER go back to Prier Violins, EVER and I will never recommend them to anyone ever again, either. Daniel Prier demonstrated the most blatant examples of arrogance, poor customer service, and self-righteousness I have ever seen. Such a shame. I am saddened that I was treated this way by the shop owner, nonetheless. I am more saddened by the fact that I can no longer even stomach the thought of walk... read more

Peter Pier and Sons agreed to sell a very nice West German Cello for my family. We had a bow and very expensive case to sell along with it. After a year and a half of trying to sell the cello and other items, without success, my family decided to take our items back from Peter Prier. We were then notified, after many phone calls and inquiry and after no one had any information about our cello and other items, that our bow and case had been sold! It took over a month to acquire this information! Our question was when was Pete... read more

I have visited Mr. Peter Prier's shop on two occasions during the past year. Most recently I was able to meet him in person and he has proven to be very professional and very personable. I played two instruments that he made and was very impressed with the tone quality, ease of play and instrument appearance. I purchased his 15 DVD set on violin-making and have viewed the first one. This is exactly what I needed to learn more about violin-making. I am more of a visual learner. I have read three books on the subject of violin... read more
