Over the past 30 years, I have been a loyal business account customer with **********************. I currently have 3 business accounts, 1 personal account, CD's and ***********************. Recently, Peoples Bank cleared/processed unauthorized fraudulent checks on my business account ********************** totaling to the amount of $61,000.I consulted with *** ******, Branch Manager at Peoples Bank. The banks ***** and Conditions of Your Account disclosure sets forth the timelines of the customers duty to report unauthorized signatures, forgeries, counterfeits, alterations, etc. under section (13) Statements. We were not notified of the issue until October 31, 2024. The fraudulent checks paid from June 20, 2024 through August 7, 2024. The August 7, 2024 transaction was the only one that was within the timeframe. The other 14 checks posted prior. Absolutely abysmal, the CEO should be in prison. You can't rob me like that.
Abusive customer service. Bank manager refused to give loan details when asked like DTI, ratios. This is dishonest, abusive, and damages and customers beacon scores. These damages end up costing consumers higher lender fees when being forced to apply for a loan that they may not even be able to do. Who applies for loans to banks, not knowing if they can even do the loan based off of income percentages? Mr. ***** called two different branches, one several times, as well as our Customer Service area. From what has been gathered from the calls it appears he was wanting to get prequalified for a Home Equity loan. Peoples Bank does not do prequalifications on Home Equity Lines of Credit. The only information he gave was his income and wanted personnel to tell him how much of a loan he could get based on that.
