I opened a People's Bank checking account several years ago, and didn't worry to much about it. I went to cancel the account and retrieve the $20 I used to open the account, but was informed by Marissa, the Director of Operations that my account switched from electronic statements to paper statements, and that I had been charged a monthly fee for this until the account was depleted and closed down. Outstanding bank in every way. Greatest strength is their personnel and branch managers. Online banking is excellent also.
