Worst banking experience of my life.People's bank in Washington, specifically, the branch in Linden, worst customer service rude disrespectful.Do not recommend this bank to anyone
Worst Customer Service! I tried to open an account on Tuesday 12/23/2025. Karla Sanchez assisted me. I was denied because Chex Systems alerted. Karla told me that nothing came back on file but she couldn't move forward with opening the account. I called Chex Systems and created an online profile. I logged in and there is no information on my file. I called Peoples Bank back. And I believe his name is Dave, offered zero help in answering my inquiry. The customer service I received at this branch was appalling. Other branches have been wonderful to work with. It’s disappointing to see a local branch and its management be so callous and unwilling to assist its account holders. We will be moving our accounts to one of the other financial institutions we bank with.
I have been banking here for decades. The manager, Jen, and her entire team have always been very professional, friendly, and helpful.
One thing I’m pretty upset about is the fact that if your debit card has to be closed out for fraud or some other reason… you cannot get a temp debit card and they do not make cards at the local branches so you are stuck without a debit card for up to 2-3 weeks. I love this bank been with them for a while they are always nice but that’s crazy.
