If I could give zero Stars I would. We went from being pre-approved, to a counter offer with a higher rate and less of a loan, to them completely retracting the offer that I have in writing. All of this within 2 days. Killed the deal even when I accepted their terrible counter offer. Do yourselves a favor and go to a real business.
Opening a savings account with PenFed was quick and easy, and I’m already planning to open a checking account as well. Didn't get an auto loan even though I had a co-signer with good credit, and my credit is good as well. The loan isn't even that much, and I got denied very quickly with no follow-up email as to why I got denied.
Why do I need to wait 30 days to use Zelle on my new account? I have two other credit unions and several federal banks, and I have NEVER had to wait so long to send money through Zelle. It is available upon the opening of my account. Also, they denied me lines of credit when MCU gave me $75K , although my credit score is excellent and I make $150k annually. I am closing my accounts! Horrible!
I applied to refinance two of my vehicle loans. I spoke with a rep from Penfed who gave me rate based upon a soft credit pull. I then finished the application and they ran my credit officially. I was then presented with several options to select from at certain interest rates. I selected my options and two days later right before signing. Penfed raised my rates on both loans. When I called to ask why my rates were raised, they did not provide any information. Save yourself some time and do business with a trustworthy lender.... read more
