My 4 year old started on a pello balance bike at 1.5 (which has now been passed down to her little sister) and has since moved up to a romper. It’s been such a wonderful and confidence building experience for her. One day a month or so ago she asked to ride her pedal bike with her pedals on and it took her 2 tries to get it on her own. Pello made a special rush to deliver a Rover just in time for my son's fifth birthday, which was a huge smash. He has been riding it on trails in the PacNW ever since. The geometry, low weight and especially the disk brakes make it super easy for him to handle gnarly MTB terrain.
