I’ve always been able to deposit a cashier’s check made out to my young kids into a managed CD for them under my wife’s main account. Now, I am told I cannot deposit these checks until I open an account in each of their names. Even if I designate “pay to the order of” with my children’s an my signature. I called my other family members which indicated both their financial institutions were able to deposit as long as pay to the order of was on back of cashiers check.
