I had a terrible experience with Payless. I booked a car in advance, only to be told upon arrival that the car—or any similar vehicle—was unavailable. This is unacceptable. Why allow reservations if you cannot honor them? The staff offered no solutions, no compensation, and no accountability. It’s clear they don’t value their customers’ time or trust. I will never rent from Payless again.

I was unable to find an easy solution to contact Payless regarding a non-injury auto accident I was involved in. The website link was dead. Payless is owned by Avis Budget Group. I filed a report via Avis website and never received any type of a response. Few days later, I had an issue with one of the rear tire that was leaking and repairable. Called based on previous reviews to ask a question about getting a car earlier than my reservation. I let the gentleman know that’s why I was calling. I was told they open at 9, when their website says 8. I was told they don’t get cars in at 8 so my reservation which was for 10am would have to stay. When I asked how to ensure that the car would be clean and sanitized before I picked it up at 10, he said my questions were “wrong.” Then he hung up on me. Beware. Don’t rent from this place. HORRIBLE first time experience with this rental agency this weekend. They booked my reservation weeks in advance only to show up and they were closed. NEVER AGAIN
