I'm giving Payless 2 stars for the following: When calling the Kauai, Hawaii number Payless list for customer service, no one answered the phone. I called several times. I had to go back to the counter to get a few hours more on my car rental. They charged me for a full day. As I never received a summary of charges from Payless, I called their parent company, Avis. Terrible. Do not go to this place! I had to wait in line for 30 minutes and then wait for another 45 minutes! Turns out, their “systems were down”. The lady at the desk wrote on the paperwork “waived gas” 7 hours after we turned the car in we got a charge for gas. We also reserved a SUV but apparently the systems that were down affected our renovation and they gave us a minivan, which for me and my friends and family was not at all enough room. Gave us a minivan with broken seats, lovely.
Horrible service, only have like 6 employees. They’re horrible, they have terrible customer service. Also, made a reservation for an SUV and they totally disregarded that we had a reservation, and made us wait a long ass time for a minivan. They have one employee running around and doing everything, driving the cars up while the rest sit inside.
Terrible!!! Waited 40 minutes and then the car they gave us had some alarm thst should have been deactivated it kept going off every minute or two, even though we turned the Bluetooth off. Took it back there and nobody was in a hurry to help. Counter woman said we’d have another car “in about 5 minutes”. Waited another 45 and blew up at the manager who told me he’d take care of it “just as soon as I finish here” with another customer. Wrong!
