One star is too much. Absolutely disgusting experience. Lina was playing on her phone texting and FaceTiming our entire time at the counter. Her heavier coworker took enough breaks from her phone to give us the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. Our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the same time the following day. This place has the shadiest business practices. I pre-paid for a rental car and when I arrived to pick it up they charged my card another $1,000 and said it was just the security deposit since I was renting the car for almost a month. Turns out it wasn’t the security deposit. It was the optional roadside and collision I would’ve declined if discussed because my personal car insurance covers rentals. The counter experience was fine, but when it came to having a car assigned in the actual garage, it was miserable. Literally. I was in line behind four other customers all waiting for cars in an open-air garage at 98 degrees, and it appeared that no cars were available. They were literally waiting for cars to be returned, rushing them out for a quick cleaning, and then delivering them to customers, who all had reservations, standing in the sweltering garage. I rented a 7-passenger SUV from the Payless location at Columbus Airport through Expedia. Although I reserved a similar vehicle to a Ford Explorer, I was given a Mazda CX-90, which would have been fine if it had been in good condition. The vehicle had significant pre-existing damage, including a heavily dented rear liftgate and multiple scratches around the vehicle.
