Simply put, this is the worst company to rent a vehicle from. I have rented cars from countless companies, and I have never been ripped off the way Payless ripped me off. They hit your credit card with SURPRISE extra charges *after* you have already returned the vehicle, and they can’t even explain the reason for the charge. They stole $200 from me. I do not recommend them—do not rent cars from this company.

Ended up with an unexplained charge on the credit card I used for the security deposit. The lady at the car rental counter was very rude.

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, that would be my rating. Starting with rental pickup, there was 1 person covering multiple rental companies at the counter. I was not given a contract to keep in car during rental. Instead, I was handed a form with barely legible numbers and told to go pick up vehicle in that area - "a Dodge Hornet with keys in it". FRAUD! SCAM! Made a reservation through Priceline. The guy at the counter assured me there were no extra charges when I questioned why there were optional charges it wanted me to sign for. He explicitly told me those were already included in my reservation and to not worry. Well, shocker, guess what appeared on my credit card as an added charge later. Do not use this company!
