Worse experience ever, they will also try to charge you handling fee's without you knowing.
Payless counter has nobody working, but email says to go to Payless counter. Ended up at Avis, got helped, told the guy we did not want insurance because we already paid for it through Expedia. Well he added it anyways without us knowing until we got our invoice after returning the car. I called Payless and they said there is nothing they can do! Will never rent here again. The car was received was nice, and bigger than expected but smelled bad.
One line inside the airport hidden in the Avis desk with few helpers. They then send you outside with no instructions and you stand in yet another line
Reserve and pay ahead of time online weeks ahead of time and wait over an hour in line to pick up the rental. 1:30 in the afternoon and most of the time only one agent helping customers. Call center is absolutely no help. I would never recommend.
The classic bait and switch. Reserved a mid-sized truck and they tried to pass off a Hyundai Santa Cruz as one, which it clearly isn’t not. Forced us to pay an upgrade fee to get what we reserved in the first place, only to receive a dirty vehicle that clearly has mechanical issues (shift interlock?) as it is nearly impossible to get out of park. Believe the other ratings online, as I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy as a rental option in SLC.
