I’ve been going to Paul for about 10 years for road bike servicing and the level of knowledge and workmanship has always been top quality. Old school kind of service, which you won’t get at the big bike shops. Recently had a high-end road bike built up by Paul with no faults.
Gear change cable just arrived for my Trek Road bike a moment ago. Why do I buy from Paul when I live in Bath? Because I describe what I want, he questions me til he's happy, and then sends me the right stuff (usually with some little helpful item added in). Yes, it's a bit more expensive - but I save all that struggle and searching to source (and avoid parts that don't fit). That's a good deal.
Amazing service. Knowledge second to none. Work exemplary. Very professional staff. The work done on my 1930's H. C. Strudwick was exactly as I had asked for in fact even better.
This is an updated review, the previous review being the bottom paragraph. I have since replaced the Trek and Colnalgo with Sartos created in a partnership with Sarto (Italy), Paul and his team. The first was created pre Covid and was a faultless project. The second bike has encountered issues but throughout Paul has provided excellent customer care. Took a custom road wheel I had built a few years ago to be trued up, as it happened it needed a bit of work thanks to the state of the roads. Paul did the work while I waited & looked at some very nice bikes & components. It was interesting to watch Paul work on the wheel. Wheel is back in perfect condition & back on the road. Will definitely be going back to the shop. Super friendly service & very reasonable too.
