One of the hardest parts has been watching people rush to protect a professional’s image without recognizing that they may not have all of the information. To me, that reflects the epitome of single-mindedness—the unwillingness to acknowledge that there can be multiple sides to an experience. Over the years, I personally witnessed serious boundary and ethical concerns involving both myself and my wife while under Patti’s care. The therapeutic relationship appeared to become increasingly blurred, emotionally unhealthy, and damaging to our family. In my opinion, professional boundaries and objectivity were not maintained in ways that should occur within therapy.
