I'm quite over Candler Billing..... My insurance has a contract with St Joe Candler that certain items are paid in full. I have one bill for tens of thousands of dollars that has been processed and has a balance of zero (paid in full) according to the established contract. I have made multiple calls to both Candler and my insurance company. They absolutely refuse to contact each other. This account has been appealed till in process. The billing system for SJCH is absolutely flawed and terrible. You cannot clarify charges with the dr offices , the statements have a balance different from what’s given over the phone to you from the rep (took 15 min hold time to speak to anyone), then the billing rep can’t explain the charges. The charges have the wrong Dr for the date of service and don’t match with the EOBs from insurance. If I had paid the balance what my statement said, I would have overpaid. Billing is outsourced to company in Alabama. I have outstanding amount from Oct 2024 that I agreed to make payments. Every bill I get for services since that time when I make payment in full it is posted to old account irregardless of J account number on check. Current bills are showing as past due and old larger acct is accepting parts lower than what I agreed to. Candler is losing money. It is not rocket science! Step it up Billing service... Had a imaging study done on January 27th 2025 and have left multiple voicemails regarding a refund since my insurance paid the full amount and my responsibility was $0. They had me pay $225 even after I said my insurance would cover it all or else I couldn’t get the study done that day so I paid it and now I can’t get a refund! I can’t get ahold of anyone as the refund department is just a voicemail.

This place is no different than scam call centers in overseas countries. They sent me a statement from 2 YEARS ago. After few phone calls and long talk; story changed couple of times. They claimed; they mistakenly send me a $100 refund check. (I never received it). They cannot give me check number and they will not cancel the misissued check. Instead, they expect me to PAY UP and pray that mysterious check shows up.
