Located downtown in Sakura Square, the Pacific Mercantile Company imports a wide variety of Asian grocery items including noodles, rice, seasonings, frozen food, cooking utensils, Sanrio products and more. The shop looks more like something one would find in San Francisco, or Seattle's Pike Street market. Nevertheless, the selection is the best in the Denver area. Because it is so un-Denver like, it is just fun to roam around this store. Sakura Square also has a Japanese gift shop and bookstore.

Fish! – I LOVE sushi. I used to have to drive to Aurora to find sushi grade fish but now.........Pacific Mercantile has the best selection of fresh sushi grade fish.Thats saying a whole bunch since we are obviously nowhere near a coast. FISH FISH, FISH!!!
BEST customer service! – I actually placed an order online for this store since they are the only supplier I have found of pineapple mochi and Dekavita C from Japan. There was a problem emailing their customer service when I needed to change my shipping options but when I called the store, they immediately found my order and shipped it the same day. The woman I spoke with was unbelievably nice and helpful. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Great Japanese and Chinese Market Good selection of hard to find items.
Great for all of us! – Unlike many cities on the west coast, Denver doesn't have an especially significant population of oriental Asians. However, we have a little eastern gem in our cow town chock full of caucasian, african and latin americans. Even a gaijin (somewhat derogatory Japanese slang for us predominant "round eyes") like myself is welcome, comfortable, and excited to shop at Pacific mercantile.
