昔、両親とロッキーマウンテニア号に乗ってレイクルイーズに行ったことがありますが、今回ウェスト・コースト・エキスプレスに乗るためにパシフィック・セントラル駅を訪れました。 まず、駅舎の建物が本当に素晴らしいです。1919年に建てられたという歴史を感じさせる、重厚な造りがとてもかっこいいですね。こういった歴史的な建造物を見るのが好きなので、建物内に入っただけで気分が上がりました。 内部は、古い駅ならではの趣があります。特に、木製のベンチが並ぶ待合室は、時代を感じさせますね。 VIA鉄道の寝台車を利用する人向けの専用スペースもあり、素敵な空間でした。ただ、長旅でスマホを充電したいと思いましたが、公共の電源コンセントは一切見当たりませんでした。このあたりは少し不便に感じます。 駅の立地はとても便利です。ダウンタウンにも近く、スカイトレインのメインストリート・サイエンスワールド駅から歩いてすぐなので、アクセスに困ることはありませんでした。 駅構内には、A&Wや寿司屋、カフェや売店もいくつかありました。食事をしたり、時間を潰すのには困らないと思います。また、アムトラックでアメリカから到着する人向けの税関もあるようですが、そこの職員の対応が不親切だったという... read more

We were in the Vancouver area and took a quick tour of the city and on the tour was a stop at Pacific Central Station. I found the station to be very clean, with plenty of seating, and signage that is easy to read. The bathrooms are maintained, and there is even an A&W root beer shop in case you wanted to get a quick breakfast or lunch sandwich, or just get a drink. Four of us today caught the Via Rail Canadian train to Jasper. Very primitive station. Both ladies and mens toilets were filthy. The ladies were that bad they closed them. The ladies then had to use the mens. Plenty of homeless outside the station, and they regularly access the toilets. Very basic facilities, Via Rail staff did their best, but in the main the process from arrival to boarding was totally disorganised. Via rail did a good job the food is good and the dome car i see trains so it was fun my kids love it🩵☺️🥰🥹🤩‍Via rail canada is the best!!!!????!!!!
