I went into a shop to buy a gift. From the moment I walked in, the owners’ husband, not so discreetly, couldn’t stop staring at me. He followed and monitored my every move, physically keeping up with me. Now I understand retail and theft and its effects on small businesses, but the difference was that he didn’t do this to anyone else in the store. I went there for a coffee and chai latte, and honestly, the gift shop does the most amazing coffee I’ve ever tasted. It had such a unique flavour. The lady there was really friendly and helpful, made me feel so welcome. You’d love it!
