Two yamahas with no success. One vf90 that gained nothing and one f225 4.2l that limiter was chosen to 7k rpms and nothing really changed. It was supposed to add 100hp at the f225 and not even close. Client really disappointed and company ask me as a dealer to refund the full amount to him from my pocket. So for the yamaha owners be cautious.
Twin Suzuki DF250AP - it could have not been simpler to upgrade! Pulled the DMEs in 1 minute, mailed to Minnesota, received them back in less than a week, put the computers back in. The longest part was researching the new props that would properly utilize my newly-found power. The low end torque on the motors is spectacular! The addition of extra 300 rpm on the top end is a nice bonus. So far put about 20 hours on the motors after the tune and cannot be happier.
The EFI flash tune has improved the performance of my 2025 Tohatsu 15hp. I haven't had a chance to take the boat out much this season after the flash but had a 3 day trip made me happy that I did it. Before when my son and I were both in in the boat she wouldn't plane at all, she would threaten to but never did, that's why I decided to flash the EFI. Tohatsu MFS40, couldnt be happier. Gets on plane very quick. Running it on a Hog Island SW16, added 2-4mph (condition dependent). Idles smoother. Throttle is more responsive both up and down. Zero changes to reliability, motor doesnt seem more stressed at all, it actually seems like its running better. Well worth the upgrade.
Before Outboard EFI reflashed the ECU for my 2024 Tohatsu 9.9, even with lower pitch prop changes the motor would not exceed 4700 rpm at the high altitude lakes I fish. After reflash the Tohatsu will rev to over 6,000 rpm with max boat speed now more than doubled. Until the reflash I was ready to sell the motor and buy a 20 hp, which I now actually have.
