This is a fabulous aged care facility. My mum was in the St Clare Wing and we couldn't have wished for a better place for her. The care provided by the nursing staff and assistants was top notch and they treated Mum with respect and dignity at all times. The room was spacious and very clean. My mum loved being there and told me everyday how much she appreciated the staff. We highly recommend Our Lady of Consolation Rooty Hill Aged Care Facility.
Do not, and I repeat DO NOT put your loved one in this facility if they have dementia or any kind of cognitive impairment. They will admit them, then kick them out pretty quickly if they are aggressive in any way. They will then be at the mercy of an already overloaded hospital system as no other homes will take them due to the incident report generated. Awful, disgraceful and absolutely appalling experience for my poor mother who was there for only 5 days...I would give them minus 5 if I could!!
Thankyou to the VERY FEW beautiful nurses that took care of my grandmother, however let me stress on the VERY FEW. This place took the heart and soul out of my nan and I, hearing the distressed calls of our resident from the front door while staff were to busy wandering off to a tea break and talking in the corridor while she was left stranded in need of help, the severe lack of communication in regards to her health and wellbeing, over charging her pharmaceutical bill and "not noticing", being severely disrespectful after h... read more
This is a fabulous aged care residence. It is clean and well maintained. The rooms in the St Helens wing are fabulous, large and spacious with excellent shower/bathroom facilities. The staff at Our Lady of Consolation nursing home were just fabulous for the whole 2 years of mum's residence there. They were caring and right on the ball. Towards the end of her life, palliative care were fabulous and really helped her to deal with the agony of a spinal 'collapse'. She died in her sleep and at peace.
