As a fitness-forward doctor of physical therapy who works with many folks battling osteoporosis and osteopenia, I was very excited to see what they offer here. I have been a member at OsteoStrong Boulder since July of 2020. My 2022 Bone density scan showed that my bone loss had stabilized from my 2020 scan. With the addition of Algae Cal over the last 9 months, I have seen a significant increase in the bone mineral density of the lumbar spine (8%), right hip (5.7%) and the left hip (2.7%). I am determined to not have the same results as my mother who lost 5 inches of height during the end of her life, and program seems to have me on the path to preventing it.
Osteostrong has helped me greatly this last year! My bone mineral density (BMD) increased by 5% in my spine and 4% in my hip in one year, which is fantastic.The exercises also helped me get stronger overall which is exactly what I needed. I also had my "faulty" parathyroids removed which was additionally significant for me. I am grateful to have found Osteostrong and have had such excellent results.
I’ve been going to Osteostrong in Boulder for almost three years now. Wow how time flies! I had osteopenia for years until I was overdosed with a thyroid drug in 2020. It threw me into full osteoporosis. I won’t take the big pharmaceutical drugs because I know the side effects and the fact they don’t have good longterm strategies.
