Today, I was in the lobby when I witnessed two DMV employees treat a Hispanic gentleman with clear prejudice while he calmly tried to present his immigration documents that allow him to extend his driver’s license. I am a white American woman and an attorney, and I immediately noticed the shift in their energy when I later approached the same clerk.
