Horrible place for family! The activities director Tracey is never at work and doesn’t care about the residents only about Facebook pictures that are faked. The management is for appearances they don’t genuinely care. They don’t check on residents unless hire up is present. CC the assistant activities coordinator is awesome and really engages with the residents and loves her job! The care staff is over worked and underpaid resulting in unfair treatment to residents. Last year our family diligently looked at and visited many assisted living homes with some type of memory care for my mother. Some not very good. Thankfully, we came upon Ortega Gardens memory care and what a blessing it was. They are specialized in working and caring for dementia patients. Equally, all of their staff are trained on the compassionate care that was needed for them. Their facility is set up with three identical neighborhoods. Ortega Gardens (on Timuquana Road) saved my life. My mother had rapidly progressed and needed 24 hour assistance. My siblings and I tried to take care of her in each of our homes. We had to keep passing her back and forth and that wasn't healthy for any of us, especially my mother. We tried the adult daycare route. That was not much easier. This is one of the most amazing facilities I’ve ever visited. The care for their patients exceeded my expectations under every category. The staff is phenomenal and the only place I would trust my loved ones with.
