I went to apply for a homestead exemption over my lunch break yesterday. There was no wait time, and I was assisted by Mrs. Lisa Ancar. She was so pleasant and helpful, and provided me with some great additional information as a first time homeowner. Mrs. Ancar exemplifies what a civil servant should be- knowledgeable, supportive, and obviously invested in the community she serves. Give credit where credit is due. Thanks, Mrs. Ancar for making my visit such a pleasant experience!
I want to shout out the assessor's office, and especially Lisa Ancar, at customer service at the assessor's office. Ms. Ancar was a pleasure to work with--on time, pleasant and a problem solver. My homestead exemption and age exemption were handled by Ms. Ancar the same day and problem free. Nice work and thanks.
I am an active duty service member stationed in Louisiana on military orders, meaning I am here without choice and am legally protected under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) from being required to establish Louisiana residency. No help in the assessor office. Shelia Williams act as if she’s the boss. Mr. Erroll Secretariat Wanda wouldn’t set up appointment for me to see him to help on the high taxes . Shelia told me to let them lose their property. She said people come in CityHall selling grandmothers property everyday. Who tells someone that. Thats sad! That’s why black people have nothing now. If I was white I know she wouldn’t have said that to them.
I had contacted this office about a change of address and had failed to complete the form correctly. I was called by Victoria Saulny, who was so very patient and courteous with me. She helped me get things straight. She is very good at her job. It was a very nice experience—much different from one I had years ago. Thank you! Charlotte Mitchell
