I had a very disappointing experience at First Citizens Bank in 4th St. I was at the branch for over an hour trying to complete basic transactions on my children’s account, where I am the custodian. Despite this, the staff repeatedly told me I could not make deposits or withdrawals. They called customer service multiple times and still received incorrect information. I had a safe deposit box with One West before 1st Citizens Bank took over. Just before the transition to 1st Citizens, I emptied my box and closed the account. To my surprise, this December 1st Citizens sent an invoice. I called them to tell them the account was closed but they insisted I must come in person to close it out (again) at the original branch.
