Every time I come to Lafayette there’s always a store that’s closed but another one that’s popped open. It use to be such a cute little outlet mall, but nothing ever stays here. I would love to see it go back to the thriving plaza it was in the late 90s, it has so much potential too. Some of the current shops are updated and modern but others look like someone’s closet with worn hand me down items. The antique stores too are so over priced.
Always look forward to the annual garlic Festival in October. I always bring home an arm full of garlic bread, specialty olive oil, and many, many bulbs of unique garlic from around the world.
There were some nice shops but also a lot of empty space. No real foot traffic which is sad to see for such a nice venue. Was at Peddler's Village a couple of weeks ago and this shopping village could take some lessons from the great ways the vendors work to draw customers to the village. Scarecrow festival happening now. Draws a lot of interest and Brings in potential shoppers.
