Amazing country western wear store! Everything from work and dress boots, custom hats, dusters and more! As for “service dogs” entering the store.. this store is full of high-quality, high priced clothing and absolutely no place for an animal of any kind. I completely stand by the owners decision to not allow any type of pets into her store. I was a historical reenactor in Virginia City for almost 20 years, and in the beginning Old Red Garter was the place to go for period clothing and accessories. As time went on I found other less expensive sources with more variety for the same items.
I have made 5 trips to your store in the past 2 years. Your website says you’re open from 11-5 and EVEEY SINGLE TIME I get excited to buy a pair of beautiful boots, the store is closed. What a shame. I was in VC today and store was closed yet again. Guess the boots I wanted to buy won’t be made for walkin 🤷♀️
Extremely rude and stuck up proprietors. Their stuff is massively overpriced. $300 for a hat?!? Umm yea right, american capitalism at its pathetic finest here ladies and gentlemen. I found my Rodeo King 5x Tracker for $95 in Germany with a 5yr warranty. Save your money and buy somewhere else.
My hubby and I recently visited Virginia City. My hubby is a bigger guy that has a hard time finding hats that fit. He entered the shop and was immediately told to leave with his service dog. He was ready to spend whatever to get a couple hats. So, if you are a dog owner or lover don't go to this shop!
