Will ticket you in zones with the speed limit poorly marked and then act like you should know what the speed limit is, even when you are from out of town. I was pulled over a quarter mile before the first sign after the exit ramp, with the last sign being 10 miles up the road at the state line. Maybe talk to ODOT and push the district to put up some more speed limit signs? (might actually help with all the staff shortages)

BEWARE-Do not provide medical insurance information when arrested on suspicion of anything. The HP lab is not adequate for all tests to gather evidence so they have a scheme with local hospitals to complete testing. They will attempt to bill you even if no case/charges result and you are released. This is normal police processing and their budget from our tax dollars should cover expenses of doing their job.

Van Wert is a ticket center that must be ran by high quotes based on my experience and what I visually saw over the past weekend. I seen one cut through the V shaped water & grass ditch median and cut off another car just to pull someone over. That is not safe whatsoever! According to the state patrol man, I was pulled over for not wearing my seat belt (secondary offense) which I argued because I ALWAYS wear my seat belt. Thank you Officer Meyer for helping me and my sisters when our car broke down on highway 30. I thought I ran out of gas and he took my sister to a gas station to get gas and helped with putting it in.
