I've taken two Off the Wall courses, which were both fabulous - great fun and very practical. Classes are small and teachers are truly inspiring. I look forward to adding Boot Making, in November, and wearing home my bespoke leather creations.
I took the Basic Theatrical Sewing course together with my computer engineering student. It was a great weekend of learning from a passionate instructor (Lela Stairs) and connecting with my own child and with other people with similar interests. A few months later, I participated in the Pattern Drafting Workshop, also led by Lela. The three courses I've taken at Off the Wall were all taught by amazing artists from the Stratford Festival. They're passionate about their work and are very generous in sharing their skills and knowledge with students.
If you are interested in 'Stagecraft' the courses offered by OTW provide the rare opportunity to get a taste of many of the different aspects of working in the theatre behind the scenes. Everyone here is passionate about theatre and all that is involved in mounting a production.
